Board Chairperson- Mdm. Truddie Edem

Mdm. Truddie Edem studied at the Université de Sherbrooke in Sherbrooke, Quebec and holds a master’s degree in le Théâtre Québécois. She went on to teach French in the United States of America (Binghamton, New York and Macomb, Illinois) and in various Canadian cities, including Montreal, Fredericton, Regina and Toronto. She is also a long-time bilingual translator with over 20 years of experience, working in both official languages of Canada (English and French). She currently resides in Toronto where she continues to teach French and English on a part-time basis.

Board Member – James Abifade
James Abifade studied broadcasting and film at Centennial College in Ontario. He is the CEO of Alpha N Pictures and one of the founders of Nollywood in Canada. Currently, he serves as a director and producer within the Nollywood in Canada.

Board Member – Mrs. Eki Iduozee Izoduwa

Mrs. Eki Iduozee Izoduwa is a co-founder of the Lords Vineyard “Garment of Salvation Gospel Church” in Toronto, Ontario. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Mental Health, along with several certificates related to health and wellness. As a philanthropist and a custodian of Benin culture and heritage, Mrs. Izoduwa also teaches the Edo language online, striving to preserve the Edo linguistic heritage within the diaspora.

Founder/Manager – Nekpen Obasogie

Nekpen Obasogie is a distinguished author and the CEO of NEBO TV. In 2022, she founded the Canadian Council for Family Services, leveraging her experience as a social worker who provided support to families in various organizations and homeless shelters in Toronto since 2018. Over the years, Nekpen has published three historical books that explore the arrival of Europeans in the Benin Kingdom of West Africa, starting in the late 15th century. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees—one in Law and Society and another in Sociology—as well as a certificate in Refugee and Migration Studies. Additionally, she has a Master’s in Social Work from York University in Toronto.
